///////// BOARD OF DIRECTORS Joe Carter

Board Member The NRCHA Veterinarian, Joe Carter, DVM, was elected to the Board of Directors in 2015. Dr. Carter was raised west of Moore, Oklahoma, in an area known as the Ten Mile Flats (Quarter Horse racing area). In 1984 he graduated from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine with honors. While in veterinary school, he was part of the team that performed the first equine embryo transfer at OSU-CVM (1983). In 1988, he established Oklahoma Equine Hospital to serve the greater Oklahoma City, Norman, and Purcell area. Dr. Carter has served as President of the Oklahoma Veterinary Medical Association, is the recipient of the Outstanding Equine Practitioner in Oklahoma award, as well as the OSU-CVM Distinguished Alumni Award. Dr. Carter is married to Terri Carter who owns and operates Carter Thoroughbred Sales Company. They were married in 1980 and have three children: Jessica, Matt and Rylie.

Dave Allen

Board Member Dave Allen was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from Columbia Law School and worked as an attorney before venturing out to start several businesses. Dave is currently a Senior Project Manager for the Boyer Company (one of the largest real estate developers in the Western U.S.), and also continues as manager and owner of several businesses in the fields of ranching through Aspen Meadows Ranch (cattle, horses, and wildlife), real estate (commercial, residential, and recreational), and investments (securities and venture lending). Dave loves to bike, fish, ski and ride horses.

Dan Roeser

Board Member Dan Roeser has been a consistent NRCHA top 25 money-earning rider and has won futurity championships at numerous NRCHA affiliate events, including Utah, Magic Valley, and Central Idaho. He has won dozens of year-end championships in the Intermountain Reined Cow Horse Circuit, and has won the Open Bridle Championship at the prestigious Idaho Reined Cow Horse Association Futurity six times. In 2009, Dan won year-end championships in the Open Snaffle Bit, Open Derby, Open Hackamore, Open Bridle and Open Two Rein, a feat no other trainer has accomplished. In 2016, Dan was inducted into the NRCHA Hall of Fame. For the past 20 years, Dan has served on the Board of Directors for the Idaho Quarter Horse Association, Idaho Reined Cow Horse Association, and the NRCHA. He has also been the president of those associations. He was also the driving force behind the NRCHA’s regional, affiliate, national, and world championship program, which has grown into the NRCHA Celebration of Champions. Dan operates his training facility, Roeser Ranch, in Marsing, Idaho.

Jim Lane

Board Member Ohio native Jim Lane joined the NRCHA Board of Directors in 2016. He now lives in Whitesboro, Texas, where he owns and operates Jim Lane Equine Insurance Services. Jim started on the reining side of the Western performance horse industry, branching out to reined cow horses in recent years. He is an avid NRCHA non pro competitor, showing in both limited age events and horse show classes.

Jon Roeser

Board Member Jon Roeser has been breeding, training, and showing horses for more than three decades. With over 25 career championships, the NRCHA Million Dollar Rider and World’s Greatest Horseman has won the championship of every NRCHA Premier Event. Jon was raised with his three brothers on the family ranch in Idaho. The Roeser family’s patriarch, the late Jim Roeser, was a NRCHA Hall of Fame horseman and standout rodeo competitor. After apprenticing under another legendary NRCHA Hall of Fame trainer, Greg Ward, Jon built his own ranch, Jon Roeser Training Stables, in Lemoore, California. Jon has given clinics and judged reined cow horse events throughout the United States and Italy. He has served on the NRCHA Board of Directors alongside his brother, Dan, for 20-plus years and is deeply committed to preserving the NRCHA tradition while producing fun and exciting events and attracting new participants. Jon and his wife, Tanya, have relocated to Kuna, Idaho, with their four children: Clay, Gage, Tylar and Kelsi.

Jimmy Stickler

Board Member Jimmy Stickler, an accomplished NRCHA competitor and judge, operates Stickler Performance Horses at Greengate Ranch in San Luis Obispo, California. With his wife, Kim, and their kids, Shaley and Taite, Jimmy has managed the ranch since 2013. A graduate of Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo, Jimmy was raised on horseback. His parents were horse trainers, and he spent much of his youth at horse shows and rodeos. Jimmy has been an NRCHA Judge for 13 years, and recently added his American Quarter Horse Association judge’s credential to his impressive resume. Jimmy has judged NRCHA Premier Events including the Snaffle Bit Futurity, NRCHA Celebration of Champions/World’s Greatest Horseman, and American Quarter Horse Association World Championship Show.

Diane Edwards

Board Member Diane Edwards has deep roots in the reined cow horse industry. She and her husband, Jess Garvin, own and operate Two Bit Performance Horses in Renton, Washington, and both Diane and Jess are employed by Manson Construction Company. Diane is a dedicated NRCHA competitor, with a proven track record in limited age event competition aboard her futurity and derby horses, and in the horse show divisions where she has successfully competed in the hackamore, two rein and bridle classes. Diane’s leadership is evident through her involvement in the Northwest Reined Cow Horse Association and in the NRCHA, where she serves as the Non Pro Committee chairperson in addition to her service on the Board of Directors.

Frank Prisco

Board Member Frank Prisco, of Smithtown, New York, began showing reined cow horses in 2009. Beyond his commitment to the NRCHA leadership and dedication his own horse program, Prisco is an arborist by profession. Prisco’s involvement in the NRCHA began in 2009 when he “dove in” headfirst to participate in the exciting sport. He says the highlight of his non professional show career thus far was winning a horse trailer at the East Coast Reined Cow Horse Classic. Prisco’s wife and four daughters have all been involved in some capacity with horses, two of his daughters having shown reined cow horses. Prisco has served the NRCHA in various capacities, including co-chairing the association’s Affiliate Committee, and twice serving as President of the Atlantic Reined Cow Horse Association affiliate.
