275 Model 1829 T Bis Percussion Artillery Musketoon with Franco-Prussian War Capture Inscription French. .69 caliber, 23.5” rifled round barrel, octagonal at the breech, with proof marks, S/N 124, adjustable rear sight, tang engraved “1829 bis.” Lockplate marked “Mre. Rle. / de Maubeuge;” action in working order. Half-stock of walnut with brass furniture, reverse buttstock has matching serial number. The obverse of the buttstock has black hand-painted inscription in German “frans. Artillerie Carabiner / Belagerung von Bitsch / Aug. 1870” indicating capture during the Seige of the fortress at Bitsch on the French-German border. Complete with iron tulip tip ramrod. Very good. Bore good. Lower sling swivel broken. Normal age and service wear. $1,500 - $2,500

276 Model 1846/67 Breechloading Conversion Chasseur Rifle French. .69 caliber, 31.25” round rifled barrel, octagonal at the breech, long range rear sight. Converted to breechloading with a bronze side hinged receiver similar to the British Snyder system. Back action lock functions properly, plate engraved “Mre Impale / de Tulle.” Two-band walnut stock with iron furniture and ramrod. Good. Bore very good. Overall light to moderate age toning. $1,500 - $2,500

277 Model 1866 Tabatiere Breechloading Rifled Musket French. .69 caliber, 37.5” rifled round-to-octagonal barrel, proof marked, two-leaf rear sight. Converted to breech loading with a side hinged receiver similar to the British Snyder system. Back action lock functions properly, plate engraved “Mre Impale / de St.Etienne.” Three-band walnut stock with iron furniture and ramrod. Good. Bore good. Metal cleaned and wood sanded. $1,500 - $2,000

278 Model 1866 Chassepot Rifle, St. Etienne French. 11mm, 31.5” rifled round barrel, octagonal at the breech with proof marks and dated “S.1871,” S/N M38519 all matching including bolt. Receiver marked “St. Etienne Mle 1866.” Bolt in original needle gun configuration for use with a paper or linen cartridge. Two-band walnut stock with arsenal markings and serial number. Complete with leather sling. Good. Bore very good. Moderate even age toning.
