215 Model 1840 Percussion Rampart Rifle French. .80 caliber, 34” rifled round barrel, octagonal at the breech, with proof marks, dated “1842”, S/N 17, folding rear peep sight. Back action lock functions properly, plate engraving worn, but appears to have been made at Chatellerault. Two-band walnut stock with iron furniture including a Schuetzen-style buttplate. Complete with iron ramrod. Very good. Bore fair. Metal aging to brown. Moderate service wear. $3,000 - $3,500

Back action lock functions properly, plate engraved “M.re R.le / de St. Etienne.” Two-band walnut stock with iron furniture. Complete with iron ramrod. Very good. Bore very good with strong straight rifling. Light age and service wear. $2,500 - $3,000
217 Model 1842 Dragoon Rifled Percussion Musket, Mutzig French. .69 caliber, 36.25” rifled round barrel, octagonal at the breech with proof marks and date “1850,” fixed sights, tang marked “Mle 1842 M T.” Back action lock in working order, plate marked “Mre. Nle. / de Mutzig.” Walnut three-band stock, clear arsenal proof with “1850” date on the obverse buttstock, brass and iron furniture. Complete with iron ramrod. Very good. Metal lightly cleaned with minor age toning. Good bore. $1,250 - $1,500
