107 Model 1777 Flintlock Musket Modified to An 9 Specifications French. .69 caliber, 44.75” smoothbore round barrel, octagonal at the breech and marked “Mle 1777 Ce.” Original flint, lock has brass pan, plate marked “Mre. Imp. / de Mutzig;” action functions properly. Three-band walnut stock with cut-out cheek rest, iron furniture and ramrod. Good. Bore good. Finish gray age toned. Stock has scattered worm holes and stains from metal contact. $1,250 - $1,500

108 Model 1777 Musket Named to a Soldier in Napoleon’s Grand Army French. .69 caliber, 44.75” smoothbore round barrel, octagonal at the breech with proof marks and date “AN 12,” S/N “No 258,” tang marked “M 1777.” Original flint, lock with brass pan, plate engraved “Ma.re Na.le / de Charleville;” action functions properly. Three-band walnut stock with cut-out cheek rest on the reverse of the buttstock; obverse has named hand-carved inscription “ALLAIN / ANTRE / AU SERVICE EN 1813,” arsenal marking partially legible, iron furniture and ramrod. Artifacts used by common soldiers of the Napoleonic Wars are seldom this clearly identified allowing excellent opportunities for further research. Very good. Bore good. Light even aging on the metal. Normal wear on the stock. Hairline crack on the obverse forearm between the upper and middle bands. $2,500 - $3,000

109 Model 1777 1st Empire Flintlock Musket Made at Liege French. .69 caliber, 42.25” smoothbore round barrel proof marked at the breech, dated “1814,” partially legible tang marking read “_ 777.” Original flint, lock has a brass pan, plate engraved “Leige / Manuf.re Imp.le;” hammer lacks top jaw and jaw screw, action functions properly. Three-band walnut stock with cut-out cheek rest and faint arsenal mark, iron furniture and ramrod. Fair. Bore oxidized. Dark age patina with scattered clusters of minor pitting. $1,500 - $2,000

110 Model 1816 Flintlock Musket, Mutzig Arsenal French. .69 caliber, 44.75” round smoothbore barrel, octagonal at the breech with proof marks and date “1821,” tang marked “Ml 1816c.” Original flint, lock with brass pan, plate marked “Mre. Rle. / de Mutzig;” action functions properly. Three-band walnut stock with cut-out cheek rest; marked on the buttstock with arsenal proofs, serial number and unit markings; iron furniture and tulip tip ramrod. Very good. Good bore. Metal finish with a thin coating of smoke residue, easily cleaned; metal appears bright underneath.
