269 Kentucky Flintlock Rifle By Andrew Figthorn .54 caliber, 44� octagonal to round barrel, Notched rear sight, a front brass blade mounted in an oval. Marked on the left flat of the barrel, at the breech is a large AF, for Andrew Figthorn. He made rifles in Reading Pennsylvania (17791827). flintlock Rifles. Four piece engraved daisy style patchbox, brass furniture and a silver eight-pointed star inlaid on the cheek piece. Silver thumb plate behind the tang. Maple stock with raised carving behind the cheek piece. Raised carving behind the tang. Incised carved lines around both sides of the rear ramrod pipe, Borderlines along the bottom edge running from the triggerguard to the toe of buttplate. Barrel and lock have a nice even dark patina. Attic looking, nice untouched patina. Stock has nice untouched look except the patchbox area, which was cleaned long ago and begun to patinate. The rest of the brass has nice aged look. A very old repair to the wrist on the bottom. A small crack on the left side at the ramrod pipe. Overall this is an excellent example of a fine early Kentucky Rifle. $10,000 - $15,000
