273 Civil War Model Spencer Carbine .52 caliber (56-56), 22” round barrel, S/N 42637. Blue and case hardened finish, saddle ring, wood stocks and sling swivel on bottom of buttstock. This desirable Civil War era Spencer repeating carbine is in overall very good condition displaying a pleasing brown patina with some silver toning to areas of the receiver. The bore is good, the action crisp and the markings good. The stocks are overall very good with two visible inspector cartouches on the left side of the buttstock behind the saddle ring bar. There are scattered mars and scratches with a larger dent on the right front end of the fore stock. Per Flayerman’s “Guide to Antique American Firearms,” only 50,000 of this early version of the Spencer carbine were produced between 1863 and 1865. $1,400 - $2,800

274 Model 1860 Spencer Army Repeating Rifle .56 caliber, 30” round barrel, S/N 1147. Spencer markings on top of the frame. Checking the SRS serial number, there is a 1149 issued to a New York unit. Three barrel bands with walnut stock and forearm. Very early serial range. All metal has nice brown patina with some pitting. Stock and forearm with some nicks and dings. A very respectable rifle. $1,500 - $2,000

275 Sharps Model 1863 Carbine 52 caliber, 22” barrel, S/N C4760, and matching number on the bottom of barrel. Top of barrel marked with Sharps Rifle Co and New Model 1863. Rear Lawrence barrel sight was removed and a notched rear sight added. Walnut stock and forearm. All metal has nice even brown patina. Rear barrel sight blends well with the rest of the metal. Stock and forearm with some nicks and dings. $1,000 - $1,500

276 Pattern 1853 British Tower Rifled-Musket .577 caliber, 40” round barrel. Lockplate marked with a crown and “1863 / TOWER.” Walnut three iron band stock, brass triggerguard and buttplate. All metal is grey to brown with a smooth appearance. Markings are sharp and crisp. Brass with nice patina. Stock has sharp lines with open-grained look. Hairline crack opposite the lock and water stains on the butt.
