Speaker Night at the Gooding County Museum The Gooding County Historical Society is excited to have the Great Granddaughter of Frank R. Gooding, Cindy (Schubert) Jones, speaking at the Gooding County Museum on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 7 p.m. Cindy will share her collection of family photos and information on her great-grandfather, Frank Gooding, and his wife Amanda. Amanda J. Thomas was born in Red Bluff, California in 1865, and married Frank Gooding in Chico, California in 1880. She was noted by various writers to be “a woman of excellent sense and discretion and a fine hostess.” After Frank served as Governor of Idaho from 1905 to 1909, they lived in Washington, D.C. while Frank was a Senator, from 1921 to 1927. They had three children: Maud Elizabeth, who married Warren Paul, Jr; John M. Gooding, who married Laura Ailshie; and Louise, who married Adam John Schubert II. Cindy’s father, Adam John Schubert III (Bud), lived all his life in Gooding other than the time he spent flying B-17’s in World War II over England. Bud few 35 missions before returning to Moscow, Idaho to finish his law degree. While there he met Elizabeth and they married. Bud and Liz had three children, Cindy Glenn Schubert Jones, Adam John Schubert, and Peggy Louise Schubert Longhurst, all born and raised in Gooding. For more information contact: 208-934-5318.
