TWOSHINE COUNTY "LOVE THIS SONG” TwoShine County unveiled their new single, "Love This Song" which is available on iTunes.ca today and will be serviced to Canadian radio on September 14. The new track delivers melodic guitar riffs with a chorus that perfectly showcases the contrasting vocal harmonies of front men Daron Schofield and Dennis Hann.

With an EP currently in the works, TwoShine County will bring their country/rock sound to Halifax with performances during Canadian Country Music Week.

"Recording new music for our fans is such a thrilling process," says Hann. "All the long days in the studio, all the coffee, and late nights, really makes the studio environment unforgettable. The moment we heard the final cut of 'Love This Song', we felt that familiar excitement and anticipation to take it to radio. We can't wait to play this song live for our fans across Canada!"

Schofield adds, "It was really incredible to watch this track come alive in the studio. When you get the right group of people together all pulling towards the same vision, while adding their own unique touch, something special is bound to happen."

Since forming in 2014, TwoShine County has released two previous singles to date, "Make It With You" (March 2014) and "Whole Lotta Love" (August 2014). Known for getting an audience on their feet, the duo has opened for Dean Brody, High Valley, Kip Moore and Emerson Drive.

The country music community came together at Halifax's World Trade and Convention Centre when MusiCounts, Canada's music education Charity associated with The Canadian Academy of Record Arts and Sciences and the Canadian Country Music Association, celebrated $5,000 in new instruments awarded to Kennetcook District School. The reigning CCMA Female Artist Of The Year, Jess Moskaluke, put on a special performance for the rural Nova Scotia students bussed into Halifax, who represented a handful of the youth supported by the MusiCounts Band Aid Program province-wide. To date, MusiCounts has given a total of $430,000 in instruments to Nova Scotia-based music education initiatives alone.

"I was 15 years old before I first picked up a guitar so all you music students here today already have a great head start," said Jess Moskaluke. "I hope you continue to pursue music and dream big! I can't wait to see what you do next with your new instruments."Vanessa Thomas, Director, MusiCounts and Don Green, President of the CCMA, were in attendance to embrace the spirit of Country Music Week and help kick-off the opening of the 2015-2016 Band Aid Grant Program request for applications. The CCMA and Canadian country music community continue to be avid supporters of MusiCounts, who will be presented with the 2015 Slaight Music Humanitarian Award during this weekend's CCMA Awards celebrations in Halifax.

"The outpouring of support we have received from both the artists and industry representatives within the country community has been incredible. Much of this started when we first made our formal alliance with the CCMAs four years ago," said Vanessa Thomas, Director, MusiCounts. "It's only because of on-going support like this that we are able to announce an additional $600,000 worth of musical instruments that schools across Canada are able to apply for, starting today.”

This celebration marked the official opening of the MusiCounts 2015-2016 school year Band Aid Program. Schools across Canada have until November 13th to submit an application. **Schools can visit www.musicounts.ca to apply.

Ryan Laird is “Bigger Than That”

Biggest reason you've come back with the "Bigger That That" tour?

I've been lucky enough to bring BiggerThanThat! back to the East Coast to start off the new school year due to the incredible reception and support that the program has garnered. I look forward to positively impacting many youth in the Maritimes during this tour and can't wait to witness the BiggerThanThat! message come to life during each event.

Can you share one of the coolest moments from your past tour?

It's hard to pick just one, but I will say that the coolest moments for me are always when a shocked school educator comes up to us after the show and tells us that the student who got up on stage and shared their dream or belted out a song in front of the entire school was actually a student who has constantly struggled to find their voice. It's an honour for me that the students feel comfortable enough during the presentation to push past their greatest fears up on stage with me.

Why music as an avenue to stop bullying?

Music seems to be a language that everyone speaks. Many kids out there cannot find their voice to stand up for themselves or others, and music gives them the ability to do so. When I was younger, I turned to songwriting in order to have an outlet for the bullying that I was experiencing, and today, I am honoured to be able to have my music heard and used as an outlet for other kids to relate to. The program has addressed the topic of motivating our youth to pursue their musical endeavours or careers, as well as encouraging them to express themselves by way of music which can include performing themselves, writing song lyrics, taking part in a music related activity, or even just being an avid listener of music with a message. The program offers a fun and interactive example of how music can change lives. Seeing that most art and music budgets are cut first, our program serves as a way to bring a public message and music back into schools with much needed excitement.

Are all the stops at schools you have never visited before?

The program is actually revisiting a few schools during this tour! We've also had educators who have moved schools and want to implement the program into their new schools as well. We're always eager to create or re-create the BiggerThanThat! message in any community or school!

RISING STAR NOMINEE JASON BENOIT HITS THE ROAD WITH TIM HICKS THIS FALL

Top 10 country artist Jason Benoit will join last year's Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Rising Star winner Tim Hicks on his Get a Little Crazy tour this fall. Recently crowned the winner of the 2015 Discovery Program Showcase for Atlantic Canada and heading into Halifax's Country Music Week with a Rising Star nomination of his own, Benoit's latest single "Gone Long Gone" (JV Records / Sony Music Canada) quickly rose to #7 on the Country Mediabase Chart this past July. Also on the bill are Ontariobased band Cold Creek County, who will join Hicks and Benoit on stages coast-to-coast.

"It's already been an incredible year for me with a CCMA Discovery Program Showcase for Atlantic Canada win and Rising Star nomination. With my new single 'Cold Day Comin'' on its way, going out on the road with Tim Hicks in November is definitely a great way to end 2015," says the Newfoundland artist.

IT WAS A DEMO WE HEARD FROM OLE PUBLISHING WRITTEN BY RYAN TYNDELL, SHAUN AMES AND JEFF HYDE. WE LOVED THE UNIQUE SOUND OF THE SONG, AND RECEIVED AN IMMEDIATE REACTION WHEN PLAYING IT LIVE. HOW DID THE TWO OF YOU DECIDE TO COLLABORATE? WE MET THROUGH PRESIDENT AND FOUNDER OF INVICTUS ENTERTAINMENT GROUP, JIM CRESSMAN. WE’D BOTH BEEN BEGINNING OUR SOLO COUNTRY CAREERS, AND JIM CAME TO US WITH THE IDEA OF PUTTING US TOGETHER AS A DUO. WE ENDED UP GETTING ALONG GREAT, AND WE RAN WITH IT.
