Tarrant Area Food Bank Mega Mobile Markets

Through the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic and Cotton Bowl Foundation, the Cotton Bowl Athletic Association teamed up with several community partners in the Dallas Cowboys, American Airlines and Arlington Police and Fire departments to hold two Tarrant Area Food Bank Mega Mobile Markets at AT&T Stadium in May and November 2021.

This marked the second-straight year that Tarrant Area Food Bank and the CBAA partnered to lead a holiday distribution event and the two organizations have collaborated to lead three mass distribution events in Arlington. The three Mega Mobile Markets at AT&T Stadium (November 2020, May 2021 and November 2021) have combined to provide food for more than 13,300 families. The Holiday Mega Mobile Market on November 18 distributed Thanksgiving-related nutritious food to 2,300 families with the turkeys and chicken provided by the collective efforts of Albertsons/Tom Thumb, MW Logistics and the Baptist Ministers Union of Dallas. The Meals for Mom Mega Mobile Market on May 5, designed to provide a Mother’s Day meal to celebrate the matriarch of their households, distributed food to 2,175 families. “Tarrant Area Food Bank could not do this without the help and support of our community partners,” said Julie Butner, President & Chief Executive Officer, Tarrant Area Food Bank. “We are so grateful. If we didn’t have the support of the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic and Cotton Bowl Foundation in this location, we couldn’t run events that serve so many families so efficiently and so quickly. We’re just grateful for the partnership and the way the community comes together to help others.” In addition to the Mega Mobile Markets, the Cotton Bowl Foundation extended a donation equal to providing 75 meals to families in need in the names of the Classic’s seasonticket holders for the secondstraight year.

For us to be able to help people in need during really challenging times is wonderful and it shows our commitment to our community. -Rick Baker President/Chief Executive Officer, CBAA
