Six years ago Mark Hanks and his business partner, Mansell Husselbee set up Staverton Building Supplies. This new business was born from their years of experience in the landscaping and building trade. This allowed customers old and new to enjoy the level of service they had enjoyed before. Staverton Building Supplies is situated just by Gloucestershire Airport on the Meteor Business Park. It’s a tip-top location for Cheltenham, Gloucester and Tewkesbury and only a stone’s throw from the M5. The shop itself is absolutely full to the brim with over seven thousand product lines. There’s everything from decorating materials through to door furniture, hand and power tools, mouldings and fixings. It’s a veritable treasure-trove of products – an Aladdin’s Cave. Mansell comments, ‘we are very particular in our AUGUST 2012
choice of products. Providing the best quality at the best price is what we do’. The outside yard area (which sits in over an acre) showcases the decking and fencing, together with an incredible landscaping and patio display area. The display section features sandstone imported from India, slate imported from Mongolia, and all manner of stone edgings and decorative gravel and chippings. This whole area allows you to visualise your build or garden project. Every member of staff is extremely knowledgeable and are all on hand to advise and assist at every stage of every purchase. Mark further comments,’ we always aim to provide a very personal service and take enormous pride in being flexible and reliable in the way that we do business. We treat our customers the way we would like to be treated’.
They operate a local delivery service and will also happily split loads and do refunds on stock lines, which is a great bonus if you’ve over – ordered. The landscaping side of Staverton Building Supplies accounts for around 40 per cent of the sales and they’ve got a customer database of over two thousand which includes builders, retail customers and hotels, schools etc. This really is a one- stop- shop and it’s right on the doorstep. Mark finally comments, ‘I take great delight in seeing customers smile and leaving here with the right products at the right price. It’s all about customer satisfaction and providing a pleasant purchasing experience for all’.
