Magnificent Danube East From Vienna to the Danube Delta DAY 1: Vienna
Embarkation in Vienna-Nussdorf. Departure in the afternoon.
DAY 2: Budapest Arrival in Budapest and *city tour around noon. The tour also includes a ride up to the Gellért Hill with a beautiful view on the city with its palaces, churches and bridges. The afternoon can be spent during some free time in Budapest. After lunch the guests have the possibility to join the optional excursion to **Gödöllö and see the castle and its chambers, where Empress Elisabeth once lived. In the evening the our ship leaves Budapest behind.
DAY 3: Mohacs - Osijek After a technical stop in the border town of Mohåcs in the morning, the ship reaches Osijek on the Drava, in Croatia, in the afternoon. A coach excursion sets off from here to *Kopacki Rit nature park. The more than 17,000-hectare area of wetlands, ponds, backwaters and lakes boasts a wide variety of plants and animals. After the return, *sightseeing in Osijek, Croatia’s fourth-largest city, is on the programme. (In case of high- or low water the ship will stop in Vukovar instead of Osijek.) Continuation of the cruise. .
DAY 4: Novi Sad - Belgrade *City tour in Novi Sad in the morning, afterwards by coach to Belgrade. In the afternoon, *city sightseeing is planned here, which not only includes the attractive Old Town with its architectural masterpieces, but also a visit to the massive Belgrade Fortress, where you will enjoy a wonderful view of the confluence of the Sava and the Danube. Continuation of the cruise in the late evening.
DAY 5: Danube Gorge - Iron Gates Today, you will enjoy the ship’s passage through the gorge on the Danube in the more than 100 kilometre-long Djerdap section, where the Danube forms a gorge which created the largest river cliff landscape in Europe. Here, the river is narrowed down to 100 metres, is up to 70 metres deep and lined with cliffs that are over 300 metres high. In addition, historical monuments enrich the impressive fluvial topography. The most spectacular section is formed by the three kilometre-long “Iron Gate“ at the end of the gorge. An unforgettable experience!
DAY 6: Svistov - Veliki Tarnovo - Rousse Arrival in the morning in the Bulgarian port Svistov, full-day excursion by coach to *Veliko Târnovo incl. lunch. It was once the capital of the second Bulgarian empire – a city just like in a picture book. Afterwards visit in the nearby open-air museum *Arbanassi with houses from the 16th and 17th century that were built as a fortress, five churches and two monasteries. Return on board in Russe.
DAY 7: Harsova - Constanta Arrival in the Romanian Danube port Harsova, coach excursion to *Constanta. The big harbour town at the Black Sea was founded by the Greeks and became an important harbour in Roman times. Nowadays the city is a popular destination for tourists. Return on board in Harsova.
DAY 8: Sulina Arm - Danube Delta Sailing on the Sulina-arm to the estuary mouth into the Black Sea before noon. In Sfântu Gheorghe there is an optional *boat excursion to the unforgettable Danube Delta that stretches out on a 4.340 km² large area. It is a huge nature and bird paradise with a unique flora and fauna.
DAY9: Braila Disembarkation after breakfast in Brail and transfer by road to Bucharest - your cruise ends here - take an extension and discover Romania.

The MS Strauss – named after the famous Austrian composer of Viennese waltzes – is an absolute premium ship cruising between the North Sea and the Black Sea on the Danube and Rhine River. The public areas such as the restaurant or the panorama salon were renovated and completely redesigned in 2017/18. All cabins are outside cabins. The Deluxe cabins (15 m²) and suites (19.5 m²) on the Danube Deck have French balconies with sliding doors. On the Rhine Deck there are Deluxe cabins (15 m²) with openable semi-French balconies, Deluxe Junior suites (18 m²) and Standard cabins (15 m²) with non-openable panorama windows. The cabins on the Moselle Deck are slightly smaller (12 m²) and have smaller, nonopenable windows. All cabins are equipped with adjustable air condition, shower and lavatory, flat screen TV, two beds (on request also separated / on Moselle Deck just separated), wardrobe, hair dryer and telephone.
