Selva romana è un’opera installativa composta da 169 disegni di 20x30cm ciascuno e disposti a parete. Questi disegni uniti tra loro creano l’immagine di un roveto fotografato dall’artista nei pressi del suo studio a Roma. I disegni sono delle incisioni realizzate su fogli di carta copiativa di grafite, ottenuti ricalcando l’immagine fotografica del rovo. Questa immagine provoca uno spaesamento rispetto allo stereotipo di Roma, una città percepita come portatrice di un passato grandioso, che qui viene rappresentata nella sua dimensione più selvaggia. Il roveto fa inoltre riferimento all’idea di rizoma, ripresa dal repertorio concettuale di Deleuze & Guattari, e che sta a indicare il movimento non strutturato del desiderio. Selva Romana [Roman wilderness] is an installation consisting of 169 20x30cm drawings hung on the wall. These drawings combined together create the image of a thicket photographed by the artist near her studio in Rome. The sketches are engravings on sheets of graphite copy paper, created retracing the photograph of the bushes. This image portrays a very different scenario compared to the stereotype of Rome, a city with a great past but here represented in its most savage dimension. The bushes also refer to the idea of rhizomes as conceived in Deleuze & Guattari's repertoire, indicating the unstructured movement of desire.
