Show Information for Cattle Exhibitors AIM Notification The movement of Irish registered cattle to and from an Agricultural Show within the State must be recorded on AIM using form CMMS4 (available from local DVO’s). Ultimate responsibility for fulfilling this requirement lies with the Show Secretary. The keeper of the animal(s) should complete sections 2 and 3(a) of the CMMS4 form while Section 3(b) should be completed by the Show Secretary. Completed forms should be sent to the DVO in the county where the show is being held within 7 days of movement.

Move animals directly from farm to show site Disinfect the vehicle used to transport animals before and after use TB and Brucellosis Status: All animals must come from herds that are in test and have a clear brucellosis teat a laid down by Dept of Agriculture and Food, i.e. Brucellosis 60 days and TB 12 months Ensure that the required documentation which should accompany the animals is in order before the date of the show and contact the local District Veterinary Office when deciding to exhibit

If an item of hand knitting, crochet or embroidery is entered, a sample of yarn used to make the item must accompany the entry. If a picture is entered, th picture must be handmade. Machine work will not suffice. All vegetables/flowers must be grown by the exhibitor. 3. Exhibitors may qualify once only. 4. This competition will be judged on a points system. 5. It is up to each competitor to make sure that their exhibit complies with the class requirements. Persons accepting entries cannot comment on exhibits in that respect.

Judges decide if exhibits are disqualified for any reason and their decision is final.

No entry fees will be refunded for disqualified entries. The success of the show depends on the number of exhibits on the day and we invite you to participate in the various classes. Also note that we have some qualifiers for All Ireland’s in Tullamore, Bonniconlon, Moate and Castleblaney. SHOW RULES 1. ALL EXIBITS MUST BE BONA FIDE PROPERTY OF EXIBITOR 2. THE DECISION OF THE JUDGE WILL BE FINAL. OBJECTIONS ON ANY POINTS MUST BE LODGED WITH THE SECRETARY BY 6pm ON THE EVENING OF THE SHOW. 3. IN THE EVENT OF THERE BEING THREE EXIBITORS OR LESS IN A CLASS PRIZEMONEY WILL ONLY BE AWARDED TO THE WINNER. 4. THE COMMITTEE WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR LOSS OR ACCIDENTS ETC OF ANY KIND WHICH MAY OCCUR TO EITHER EXIBITORS, EXIBITS OR GENERAL PUBLIC. 5. ALL ENTRY FEES ARE NON REFUNDABLE EXCEPT IN THE EVENT OF THE COMPETITION BEING CANCELLED THE IRISH SHOWS ASSOCIATION WOULD ADVISE ALL ANIMAL OWNERS WHO HAVE THEIR ANIMALS INSURED TO HAVE THE INSURANCE EXTENDED TO COVER THEM WHILE SHOWING ANIMALS AT SHOWS, WE UNDERSTANDS IT COSTS VERY LITTLE OR NOTHING DEPENDING ON WHO YOUR INSURER IS.

THE REASON FOR GIVING THIS ADVICE IS THAT IF YOUR ANIMAL WERE TO LASH OUT AND INJURE SOMEONE OR DAMAGE SOMEONES PROPERTY AND IT WAS ESTABLISHED THAT YOUR ANIMAL WAS OUT OF YOUR CONTROL AT THAT TIME, YOU MAY BE HELD RESPONSIBLE OR PARTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INJURY OR DAMAGE CAUSED & COULD HAVE TO PAY ALL OR PART OF ANY SETTLEMENT REACHED.
