bs and trends for 2017 very colourful spring and summer – let’s hope for plenty of sunshine to get the most of the plants this year! Perennial Plants: I see a growing trend in perennial plants every year with more and more people wanting to plant their borders just the once. This also gives reassurance that the plant comes back the following year and seems to give beginner gardeners more confidence in the ability to take care of their plants. All the cottage garden type plants are really popular. This really ties in with the growing demand for encouraging wildlife into your garden. Wildlife gardening grows in popularity every year as people create wildlife havens in their garden. More wildlife saves us time and jobs as it encourages predatory wildlife into the garden to eat all the pests that attack our cherished plants. This helps reduce the use of chemicals in gardening. Watching butterflies and dragonflies is also really lovely! Sadly for us we are seeing a decline in the bulb market which is something I am going to try and work on this year. Bulbs offer great value gardening and with planting combination packs some border design has been done for you. It seems, though, that people prefer plants as they can come on stream much more quickly. If we have a mild winter it seems many skip bulb planting which is sad. Take the Tete a Tete which used to be a bulb purchase, but now we sell so many plants it competes with the packs of bulbs. Again when beginners buy the plant they have instant success , the bulb can be seem less reliable if you don’t know how to grow bulbs.
and Daffodil Bird Feeders. The Poppy Campaign in support of the Royal British Legion was very popular and most of the country sold out before Remembrance Day. They are back in stock now and I think they will sell all year. For the Daffodil promotion there is a donation to Marie Curie for each item sold which will start in February. Look out for the promotional packs of bird food and the feeder in store. We look forward to seeing you in the garden Centre, check out the vouchers in our advert. Happy gardening in 2017 - Fiona

Garden Décor - Miniature World
This is huge now, with consumer demand rapidly growing for miniaturised products to create Fairy Worlds and similar miniature planted scenes many companies are now bringing the miniature world of fairies to market. It has been a big success with people creating enchanted gardens in plant pots and rockeries. The products represent a unique collectable consumer product with great detail in every piece. There is a large range of fairies, houses, doorways, swings, streams, bridges, animals, gnomes and even a vegetable patch! This will continue to grow in popularity as more and more products come onto the market including themed products such as the ‘Beach’ and ‘Medieval’ collections.
