Dryden South Development To Break Ground in June By RYAN HUMPHREY Sun Staff Writer
Construction of Dryden South — the mixeduse building planned for 205 Dryden Ave. — is set to begin June 1 and will last approximately one year, according to Pat Kraft, owner of Kraftees book store. Kraft said he expects the demolition of the current building to take “probably one day.”
Make space | A rendering depicts Dryden South, a mixed-use building which will house the Kraftees book store, as well as apartments. Construction on the current Kraftees site will begin June 1 and is slated for completion next summer.
“It will go from nothing happening to a lot happening in a very short period of time after graduation,” Kraft said. “I’m hoping by September that the building is substantially off of the ground and that will attract the interest of the students. I know the rental season in September is very competitive.” The planned development will host a redesigned Kraftees store on the first floor and four floors of housing above, according to Kraft. Each floor will feature two four-bedroom suites, which will contain a kitchen, two full bedrooms and a family room. The building’s basement will also include laundry rooms, bike storage and a fitness center. See KRAFTEES page 4
