Basketball

June 26-30

3-5 p.m. at CJA’s gym

Join CJA players and coaches to improve your individual ballhandling, shooting, rebounding and defensive skills. This camp focuses on fundamentals and individual instruction through competitive drills, contests and scrimmages.

Facilitated by: CJA Varsity Coach Mary Kaye Banks and CJA assistant coaches: Kristina Schmelter, Kevin Youngblood, Emily Erbs, JoEllen Sarich and past CJA players.

Fee: $125/$150 after May 15

Cross Country

2023-2024 GRADE LEVEL: 6 • 7 • 8

June 5-9

6-7:30 p.m. at Cor Jesu (Monday); Various Parks (Tuesday-Friday)

A great introduction to the sport of running for those interested in cross country or for anyone looking to improve their aerobic conditioning over the summer. In case of extreme heat, the start time will be 7 p.m.

Facilitated by: CJA Cross Country Coach Katie Mannhard Helbig, CJA Assistant Coach John Monda and CJA athletes.

Field Hockey

2023-2024 GRADE LEVEL: 5 • 6 • 7 • 8

June 19-23

4:30-6 p.m. on CJA’s Back Field With 18 Final Four appearances in the last 20 years, the Cor Jesu Coaching Staff and players will teach the basic skills and core components of field hockey that have been the secret to their success. Sticks and eyewear will be available for campers, but please bring a mouth guard.

Golf

Meet in CJA Commons on Monday, June 12

CJA Golf Coach Mark Tueth will teach you the skills that you need to be a successful golfer. Grip, stance, swing and club selection are included in this instructional camp. The rules of the game and golf etiquette will be taught through fun drills and contests. Participants will need to bring at least one iron and one putter.

Lacrosse

10 a.m. - 12 p.m. on CJA’s Side Field Learn the ins and outs of this popular sport from one of the top programs in the St. Louis area. Coach Andrew Shipp and his staff will introduce the skills of throwing, catching, scooping and protecting the ball. For those looking to try something new, this lacrosse camp is for you! Please bring a mouth guard.

Soccer

6-8 p.m. on CJA’s Back Field Experience Cor Jesu’s rich tradition on the pitch! Coach Rachel Brcic will lead campers through drills and small-sided games that emphasize shooting, passing, game tactics and team play. Facilitated by: CJA Varsity Soccer Coach Rachel Brcic, and CJA assistant coaches.

Softball (one-day camp)

This one-day camp will help the beginning softball player build a solid foundation of skills and the advanced player hone theirs. Hitting, throwing and fielding techniques will be covered in this skills camp, as well as beginning and experienced pitching skills.

Stronger U Summer Training

2023-2024 GRADE LEVEL: 6 • 7 • 8

6 weeks starting June 19

Mon-Thurs | 1:30 - 3 p.m. at CJA’s Gym

Cor Jesu soccer coach Ellen Summers has more than 15 years of teaching and coaching strength and conditioning. This new conditioning program is for any girl, middle school-aged or enrolled at Cor Jesu, who wants to build a “Stronger U.” All daily activities will encourage building endurance, strength, balance and flexibility to help shape more wellrounded athletes. This camp will look at three categories: strength, speed and agility. Emphasis will be placed on proper technique in all movements, geared toward developing stronger athletes through core lifts, auxiliary lifts, mobility training exercises and dynamic movements.

Tennis

4-6 p.m. at Dwight Davis Tennis Center

This camp introduces tennis skills to beginners and fine tunes the skills of the competitive players who want to play in high school. Grips, forearm and backhand strokes, lob shots and serving will be taught through personal instruction, drills and fun, competitive games.

Challenger Volleyball Camp

2023-2024 GRADE LEVEL: 7 • 8

July 17-21 | 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at CJA’s Gym

The Challenger Camp is designed for volleyball players with select/ club experience and focuses on practicing and developing skills essential to competitive volleyball. We’ll cover all the basics at a fast pace and high level.

Registrations received after May 15, 2023, will be charged a $25 per camp late fee. Printable registration forms are also available for download from Cor Jesu’s website, or you can tear out the form in this brochure. When registering online, ALL campers will be asked to complete a media release form. ALL sports campers must also complete a medical and emergency release form. Each enrichment camp will have a minimum of six students, maximum of 25, unless otherwise noted. Early registration is recommended, as class sizes are limited. Parents will receive a confirmation letter or e-mail after May 15, 2023. In the event that a class is canceled due to insufficient enrollment, parents will be notified.
