20th Century Teenage Fashion

2023-2024 GRADE LEVEL: 4 • 5 • 6

June 5-9 | 8-10 a.m.

Interested in fashion, hair styles and makeup? Join us to create flapper boas, cat eyes and crazy 80s hairstyles. Each day we will learn about the history and the fashion trends of a different era in the 20th century. With assistance from current Cor Jesu students, camp participants will create cool looks from the past! Enrollment is limited to 18 students.

Babysitting 101

Would you like to make money taking care of kids? Gain confidence by learning from CJA students who are experienced babysitters. We will learn simple games and crafts for small children, how to market your skills to parents, and ideas for investing your hard-earned cash. We will also cover emergency situations, basic first aid and have role-playing scenarios. Enrollment is limited to 18 students.

Cheer and Dance Camp

RAH! RAH! RAH! This fun camp teaches young athletes all the essential skills to lead the crowd and support the home team. Each camper will learn a dance routine, cheers with proper hand and body movements, chants and cheerleading motions. Perfect for the beginner level.

RAH! RAH! RAH! This technical camp teaches athletes all the essential skills to lead the crowd and support the home team. Each camper will learn a more difficult dance routine and more advanced cheers with proper hand and body movements, chants, cheerleading motions and jumps. Perfect for the intermediate level. Campers that are attending earlier enrichment camps are welcome to bring a sack lunch and eat in the cafeteria before dance camp.

Choir Camp

Come have a great musical experience and bond with current CJA choir members! Students will spend the week honing their musical talents and working on a final performance for the last day of camp.

CJ Camp DRAMA!

Campers will experience the magic of theatre and self-expression. Will you have a lot of fun? Yes! Will you be on stage? Yes! Will you wear costumes and use props? Yes!

Through imagination, expression, diction, movement, voice and character development, campers explore the many aspects of drama and strengthen their ability to express themselves. Throughout the week, you will be immersed in roleplaying, pantomime, improvisation, skits and a variety of theatre games, which will help build acting skills, experience and confidence.

Coding/Electronics Camp

June 5-9 | 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Join us for a week of learning the basics of electronics, programming and coding. No prior knowledge is necessary. We will work on exciting activities, covering concepts like current, voltage and resistance, while developing important 21st century skills, such as problem solving and critical thinking.

Creative Writing Bonanza

Dance to the Music!

Calling all 5th-8th graders! Join us for an action-packed, funfilled rhythm and dance camp. Dancers will practice ballet, jazz and tap routines while learning about rhythms and choreography. New to dance or an experienced veteran? All levels of dance experience are welcome!

Digital Photography

2023-2024 GRADE LEVEL: 5 • 6 • 7 • 8

June 12-16

8-10 a.m. OR 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. What you see is what you get...or is it? Are you ready to go beyond the trusty point-and-shoot method of photography? Learn to take a great photo and watch it magically change as you apply compositional techniques, such as angles, leading lines and the rule of thirds. Manipulate a photo’s color, light and structure with lessons in Photoshop. Students are encouraged to bring their own digital cameras. The class is limited to 15 students.

Geocaching Adventures

2023-2024 GRADE LEVEL: 5 • 6 • 7 • 8

June 5-9 | 8-10 a.m.

Join us on an interactive outdoor treasure hunt using GPS devices to find hidden containers called “geocaches.” Campers will learn about the adventure of geocache, while exploring the area on and around Cor Jesu’s campus. Campers will need to bring their own smart phone or other GPS device.

Get Crafty!

Push your creative limits creating projects each day. Learn about upcycling and repurposing old items into new. Campers will have something to take home at the end of each day.

Go Figure!

In this engaging and interactive math seminar, students will improve critical problem solving skills, build math vocabulary and solve problems using hands-on material. The fun will continue as we build financial literacy in real-life scenarios, explore contributions of female mathematicians, and celebrate Pi Day in June!

Intro to 3D Design

2023-2024 GRADE LEVEL: 6 • 7 • 8

June 12-16 | 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

In this introductory class, students will learn the fundamentals of 3D design. Students will use the Engineering Design Cycle to take their creations from idea to 3D model. By the end of the week, students will use a 3D printer to create their items and take them home.

Passport Around the World

June 5-9 | 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Would you like to learn how to design henna tattoos or Mexican worry dolls? Or learn how to make Brazilian cheese bread, sushi and Russian crepes? Make your way around the world and learn more about a different culture each day by making fun crafts and snacks! Enrollment is limited to 18 students.

Same Story, Different Ending

Intrigued? Come join this writing class as we explore different writing modes such as flash fiction, detective fiction, playwriting in 60 seconds, and six word stories. Every day we will explore a different style of short fiction writing.

Shine Bright Study Skills

Learn creative skills for studying and test taking from the Director of Cor Jesu’s Student Learning Center. This course teaches organizational, outlining and notetaking skills, and will also cover how to read and analyze text.

Standardized Test Prep

2023-2024 GRADE LEVEL: 6 • 7 • 8

June 5-9 | 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. This camp is geared toward improving knowledge and problem-solving for standardized tests. Students will work on skills to improve test taking, get familiar with the format of standardized tests, and work on sample test problems aimed at helping them improve their performance during the test week. Enrollment is limited to 20 students.

What’s Cooking?

8-10 a.m. OR 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Come stir things up in the kitchen during this fun, hands-on cooking camp. Each day, the student chefs will prepare different recipes while learning various cooking and baking techniques. Enrollment is limited to 20 students.

Winning Entrepreneurs

Would you like to explore what it means to own your own business? This unique program will inspire young entrepreneurs to generate innovative ideas and opportunities. Participants will hear success stories of kids their own age, and learn the steps involved in taking an idea and turning it into a business.

Would you like to explore what it means to own your own business?

This advanced program will inspire young entrepreneurs not only to generate an innovative idea, but to present their idea by the end of the week. Participants will learn how to develop a business idea, as they problem-solve around an initial concept and learn the steps to starting a business. They will also present and pitch their own ideas.
