LOCAL DEAKIN GRADUATE SELLS MCG — FOR LESS THAN $500 A Commerce graduate from Geelong’s own Deakin University is currently selling the MCG to the widespread public — in pieces. He is giving the public a chance to own a part of Australian Sporting History which is set to disappear after this year’s AFL Grand Final when the rest of the MCC Pavilion is set to be demolished. 21-year-old Peter Williams is using the knowledge from the marketing and management majors, which were part of his Deakin degree, and giving sporting fanatics and the widespread public the opportunity to obtain framed sections of the MCC Crested Carpet that once lay in the Ponsford Stand. ‘People are so passionate about Aussie Rules, cricket and the MCG’ states Williams. ‘I don’t want to see a big part of our culture simply die.
