Mohan said “Indian culinary traditions stretch back more than 3,000 years which results in a culinary kaleidoscope of aroma and taste.” The blending of fresh and natural spices and ingredients of the highest quality, which are cooked with skill and finesse, is an art which they proudly share with their customers. “The food at Deepak is authentic with a modern twist with a mix of old favourites and some more unusual dishes,” said Mohan. “We offer an excellent and reasonably priced menu.”

Mohan has been involved in the hospitality industry all of his working life, having originally trained in India at the Taj group of hotels, before venturing to Germany where he spent four years. Mohan has worked in Australian kitchens since 2002. Deepak Indian Restaurant has exciting dishes for the adventurous as well as the more traditional meals for meat lovers and vegetarians alike. Mohan has lived in Australia for eight years and played an influencing part in Indian restaurants in Brisbane, Gold Coast and Noosa. Now with his own restaurant in Cooroy, hinterland residents and lovers of Indian cuisine can now also enjoy the experience. CURRENTLY at the Old Pomona Railway Station Gallery is an exhibition by well known local artists Michele Knightely and Jo Ramsay. The exhibition titled “Salt Water Sweet Water” exhibits paintings and mono prints which reflect Michele’s love of the Noosa environment. Jo is exhibiting three dimensional fibre sculptures as well as very fine framed mosaics made of Italian glass. The exhibit will continue until 24 November. The Pomona Gallery is located at 10 Station Street, Pomona and is open everyday except Sunday.

Belli Old Time Dance BELLI’S Old-Time Dances are held throughout the year, with our 2011 Christmas Dance scheduled for 26 November, staring at 7.30 pm. The dances are accompanied by live music by our local band, Sunshine Swing, featuring vocalist Rex Eggmolesse. This family friendly country tradition offers a great night’s entertainment with a hearty supper included all at reasonable rates. Everyone of all ages and experience are welcome.
