Raleigh-Wake Informer (title??) Newsletter June 5, 2018

Editor’s Note: Welcome to Raleigh-Wake Monthly Newsletter [Insert Name]. Summer is upon us, but we have so much to celebrate as the 2017-2018 Program Year comes to a close. As a chapter, Raleigh-Wake has eighteen new members and can’t wait to get started. We had another successful Jazz Brunch, which raised more than $30,000. Philanthropy, community, education and opportunities have been a constant theme and spotlight that continue to shine bright. The teens created and conducted its first Technology Summit, held on Shaw University’s campus. A panel discussed STEM and the importance of incorporating that into the lives of young people. We sadly say goodbye to our Executive Board and thank them for the dedication and leadership. New things are on the horizon, including a new board, a new program year and new mothers. As Editor of the Raleigh-Wake Chapter, I am excited to bring to you our re-designed newsletter. It is my hope that you enjoy the new format and find it useful. There are several additions to the newsletter--Happy Dollars (Celebrate Jacks and Jills Enrichment Opportunities and Activities, Job Connect (syn.), Photo bomb (photos from age group activities over the course of the month, Family Matters (chapter activity photos), Show Me the Money (Fundraising – monthly sponsors & charitable contributions), National News, Mid-Atlantic News, Raleigh-Wake in the news… Susan Grimes, Editor

Summer is upon us. Be safe, enjoy and see ya soon!

Prayer Corner Need a Change? “You will also decree a thing, and it will be established for you; and light will shine on your ways.” (Job 22:28) We all have areas in our lives where we desire to see change; areas we know we need to come up higher or strongholds we need to break. The good news is that God has given us the power to change! Scripture says that we overcome by the blood of Jesus and the word of our testimony. So often, we complicate life more than we need to. Our minds get busy trying to “figure” everything out. People can spend more time analyzing their situation instead of applying God’s Word to their situation. Let God’s Word shine on your ways and direct your path toward the life of victory He has promised you! As we close out this program year, keep shining your light by walking in goodness – good thoughts, good words, and good actions! Prayer: “Father, thank You for loving me. Thank You for choosing me and empowering me to become all that You’ve called me to be. Today, I set my heart and mind on You, I will declare Your Word and follow Your ways so that I can become who You've created me to be in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Thank YOU for all you’ve done this year! NeSonya Parker, Chapter Chaplain Photo Bombs
