João Cura e Sofia Gomes quiseram, desejaram e criaram o Almeja, o seu novo restaurante com um conceito casual fine dining. Abriu no local de uma antiga mercearia tradicional e aposta em produtos nacionais de pequenos produtores e numa cozinha que se rege pelo ciclo da natureza. A gastronomia portuguesa é o ponto de partida para a criação dos pratos, que podem ser degustados nas duas salas interiores ou na bonita esplanada. 3 João Cura and Sofia Gomes are the dreamers and creators behind Almeja, their new restaurant based around the concept of casual fine dining. Opened in what was once a traditional grocery, it only uses local products by small producers to create food that is governed by the cycles of nature. Portuguese recipes are the starting point for dishes that can be tasted in the two interior dining rooms and on the pretty terrace.
O nome vem da mistura de influências que invade uma cozinha viajada pelos quatro cantos do mundo e o cicerone desta expedição é o chef Rui Mingatos (do restaurante Flow). Na carta há pratos frios e quentes tão sedutores na boca como no olhar. Aliás, sofisticação é o que não falta neste espaço de dois pisos, outrora uma serralharia transformada em restaurante. No rés-do-chão poderá também saborear um dos cocktails de autor do bar. 3 The name comes from the mix of influences that invade a kitchen inspired by every corner of the world, and whose expedition guide is Chef Rui Mingatos (from restaurant Flow). The menu features cold and hot dishes that are as seductive to the eye as the mouth. Sophistication is something there’s no lack of on the two floors of this one time metalsmith’s. On the ground floor, you can also try one of the bar’s signature cocktails.
