After its total renovation, a new chapter in its history has now opened. With that aura only iconic places have, it remains timeless and elegant, but has now taken its place in the 21st century. The monumental entrance takes you by surprise and hints at the magnificent bas-relief panel that dominates the lobby. Besides more space, guests can also enjoy suites with the new 24-hour private butler service, Family Rooms and luxury amenities. There’s an Executive Lounge, a spa, fitness centre and new wining and dining experiences. Directly opening onto the street is the new Cervejaria Liberdade (see p. 48), a modern interpretation of the best in Portuguese culinary traditions.
