CONVENTO DOS CARDAES
Uma relíquia arquitectónica no Bairro Alto, já que sobreviveu ao terramoto de 1755 e é hoje uma das poucas estruturas pré-pombalinas na cidade. Guarda lá dentro um belíssimo acervo de arte sacra conservado ao longo dos anos pelas Carmelitas Descalças, para quem o edifício do séc. XVII foi construído. O exterior é sóbrio e o interior, um tesouro. Merece a sua visita. 3 An architectural relic between Bairro Alto and Príncipe Real, as it survived the 1755 earthquake and is now one of the few prePombal era structures still standing. Inside it has a stunning collection of sacred art conserved over the years by the Barefoot Carmelites, for whom it was constructed in the 17th century.
