Inaugurada em Dezembro 2012 com uma exposição do artista Nadir Afonso, esta galeria de Arte Moderna e Contemporânea é uma parceria com a Manufactura das Tapeçarias de Portalegre. As obras são intercaladas com os arcos estruturais do edifício à mostra, que tornam este espaço tão genuíno e lisboeta. A galeria tem para já, como prioridade, os artistas que desenvolvem trabalho na pintura e tapeçaria. Mas independentemente do que o futuro lhes reserva, podemos contar com o selo de beleza e valor da Manufactura das Tapeçarias de Portalegre. 3 Opened in December 2012 with an exhibition by the artist Nadir Afonso, this new modern and contemporary art gallery is a partner of the Portalegre tapestry factory. The artworks are interspersed by the building's visible structural arches, which give the gallery such an authentic and typically Lisbon quality. For now, the priority of the gallery are artists who focus on painting and tapestry. Há pessoas com olho para o que é bonito, o que fica bem e o que tem graça. A Retrostore, recentemente inaugurada na rua dos antiquários, é um manifesto irreverente às colecções mais conservadoras. São caçadores ferozes de peças que pertençam ao período que se estende dos anos 50 aos 90. E depois, é o que couber na oficina e o que a sensibilidade ditar. Ora restauram, ora alteram a função, ora pintam de amarelo. Mesas, candeeiros, capacetes militares, máquinas de escrever, cadeirões. Potencializar o melhor de cada objecto é o seu mantra. 3 There are some people who have an eye for what looks good, feels right and just works. Retrostore, recently opened in the antiques street, is an irreverent manifesto to more conservative collections. They are fierce hunters of pieces that belong to a period from the 50s to the 90s. And then it depends on what fits in the workshop and what sense dictates: some get restored, others given a new purpose and some are painted yellow.
