Um espaço único e plural no coração do financial district da capital, que alberga a colecção de fotografia BESart, vocacionado para o encontro entre o vanguardismo e a criatividade, onde uma ecléctica programação se inscreve de uma forma distinta na agenda cultural da cidade. Entre muitos outros, já acolheu EXPOSIÇÕES de artistas como Gérard Castello-Lopes, João Louro, Julião Sarmento e Miguel Palma; CONCERTOS de Jacinta, João Gil, The Legendary Tigerman e Márcia, Amália Hoje, Otros Aires e Nouvelle Vague; ESPECTÁCULOS da Companhia Olga Roriz, dos Quorum Ballet, da actriz Beatriz Batarda, a Bienal EXPERIMENTADESIGN, FUSO , IndieLisboa e a Trienal de Arquitectura. Begun in 2004, BESart is currently one of the largest private photography collections in the whole of the Iberian Peninsula. Comprising some 900 artworks by more than 280 artists, the curatorial vision is to follow and disseminate contemporary artists and to focus on the acquisition of art produced in the 21st century. Featured are leading artists such as Cindy Sherman, Nan Goldin, Helena Almeida, Wolfgang Tillmans, Candida Höfer, John Baldessari and Julião Sarmento, among others, with artworks which focus on the photographic record through the use of myriad forms of expression, from installation to sculpture, drawing and painting. In 2011, the BESart Collection was the recipient of the highly regarded Corporate Collection prize awarded by the Friends of ARCO Association. This prize recognises the bank’s continued support for contemporary art that has resulted in a unique collection which it displays freely to the general public in regular and thematic exhibitions held at BES Arte & Finança.
