Colecção de Fotografia A colecção de fotografia BESart é actualmente uma das principais colecções privadas do género na Península Ibérica, composta por cerca de 900 obras de mais de 280 artistas. Nomes de referência como Cindy Sherman, Nan Goldin, Helena Almeida, Wolfgang Tillmans, Candida Höfer, John Baldessari e Julião Sarmento, entre outros, assinam trabalhos que têm por base o registo fotográfico, percorrendo as suas múltiplas formas de expressão, da instalação à escultura, passando pelo desenho e pela pintura. Em 2011 foi distinguida com o conceituado prémio Coleccionismo Corporativo, atribuído pela Associação Amigos da ARCOmadrid.
Photography Collection BESart is currently one of the largest private photography collections in the whole of the Iberian Peninsula. Comprising some 900 artworks by more than 280 artists, the curatorial vision is to follow and disseminate contemporary artists. Featured are leading artists such as Cindy Sherman, Nan Goldin, Helena Almeida, Wolfgang Tillmans, Candida Höfer, John Baldessari and Julião Sarmento, among others, with artworks which focus on the photographic record through the use of myriad forms of expression, from installation to sculpture, drawing and painting. In 2011, the BESart Collection was the recipient of the highly regarded Corporate Collection prize awarded by the Friends of ARCO Association.
BES ARTE & FINANÇA 3 Situado no financial district de Lisboa, o BES Arte & Finança é um espaço vocacionado para o encontro entre criatividade e inovação, vanguardismo e ecletismo. Nele coabitam a arte contemporânea e serviços financeiros, representando o forte compromisso do Banco Espírito Santo com a divulgação da cultura. É aqui que se encontra depositado o acervo da colecção de fotografia BESart, acessível ao público em geral. Da programação do BES Arte & Finança, fazem parte eventos culturais que o inscrevem de forma distinta na agenda cultural da cidade. Entre muitos outros, já acolheu EXPOSIÇÕES de artistas como Gérard Castello-Lopes, João Louro, Julião Sarmento e Miguel Palma; CONCERTOS de Jacinta, João Gil, The Legendary Tigerman e Márcia, Amália Hoje, Otros Aires e Nouvelle Vague;
ESPECTÁCULOS da Companhia Olga Roriz, dos Quorum Ballet, da actriz Beatriz Batarda, a Bienal EXPERIMENTADESIGN, FUSO, IndieLisboa e a Trienal de Arquitectura.
3 Situated in Lisbon’s financial district, BES Arte & Finança is a space devoted to the meeting point between creativity and innovation, avantgardism and eclecticism. In it, contemporary art exists alongside financial services, representing the Banco Espírito Santo’s strong commitment to the dissemination of culture, particularly through the promotion of photography. BES Arte & Finança is the home of the BESart contemporary photography collection. Its eclectic programme cuts a distinctive swathe through the city’s cultural agenda.
