Com 38 anos ainda se é um jovem marialva, mas em “anos de restaurante” percebe-se que a fama que granjeou o Fidalgo, não é coisa pouca. Casa cheia de personagens da cidade, tem sempre uma mesinha para nos receber com o famoso Arroz de Pato, os Pastéis de massa tenra, Bacalhau à Minhota entre outras comidinhas bem lusas sempre regadas com o melhor que das uvas se espreme. Acabou de abrir com novo look! 3 At 38, it’s still a youngster, but in “restaurant years” you realise that the renown Fidalgo has built up is no small thing. Full of city personalities, the establishment always has a small table waiting to receive you with its famous Duck Rice, Soft savoury pastries and Minhota-style Salted Cod among other genuine Portuguese dishes always washed down with the juice of the finest grapes. Nesta antiga padaria transformada num espaço acolhedor, destacamos os deliciosos pratos de Bacalhau, e na carne, as Migas de Espargos Bravos com Lombinhos de Porco ou o Cabrito à moda de Monção. Um valor mais que seguro, a repetir sempre que possível. 3 After 7 years, one thing is clear: the restaurant As Salgadeiras is a master at the art of serving its guests superb traditional Portuguese cuisine. In this old baker’s turned cosy eatery, of note are the delicious salted codfish dishes, the ‘Wild asparagus “migas” w/ pork tenderloin’ and the ‘Monçãostyle roasted kid goat’. This is a truly safe bet and one to be repeated whenever possible.

O BeBel Bistro é um restaurante de ares vintage com uma bonita esplanada onde apetece dedicar horas ao dolce fare coisa nenhuma num estilo caseiro e boémio. Pode sempre começar a praticá-lo ao pequeno-almoço, a almoçar um Waterzooi (estufado) ou a lanchar uma tábua de queijos acompanhada de cerveja belga, a nacionalidade de Nele Duporteil, a dona. 3 There’s more to a politician’s life than just hard work. BeBel Bistro is a vintage-look restaurant with a lovely outdoor area where you could happily idle away hours doing nothing in true bohemian style. You can start at breakfast, have Waterzooi (stew) for lunch and then a cheese platter for an afternoon snack with some Belgian beer, which is also the nationality of the owner, Nele Duporteil. MP
