Este não é um antiquário qualquer, é um atelier de arquitectura que virou expositor de uma fantástica colecção. Um projecto especial de quem, se pudesse, passava a vida a viajar. Aqui podemos encontrar originais peças decorativas cheias de histórias para contar, das jarras aos candeeiros, da arte nova ao kitsch. Se foi produzido nos séculos XIX e XX, estará por aqui. “Please come up,” invites Francisco Sequeira, the owner. On the first floor, we discover three rooms full of interesting objects. This is not just any antique shop. It is an architect’s studio that has become a showcase for a fantastic collection, a special project for someone who, if he could, would spend his life travelling. On show are original decorative items replete with stories to tell, from lamps to candelabra, art nouveau to kitsch. If it was made in the 19th or 20th centuries, it will be here somewhere. MP 7E

Purex CLUB Dez anos em “anos de bar” equivalem a mais uns tantos. Ainda mais se estivermos a falar do Bairro Alto. O Purex - o bar “lesbian friendly” mais famoso do bairro - celebra a primeira década com divertimento, muito longe de cair na rotina. Quando se passa a porta laranja tudo pode acontecer. O espaço é acolhedor e faz-se de objectos bem kitsch, onde não falta nem a Nossa Senhora nem os candeeiros de copos de plástico. Entrar e sentar é uma sorte, este bar já tem os seus fiéis, mas há sempre espaço para mais um. Vale a pena aparecer! Ten years in “bar years” is equivalent to a few more on top. And yet a few more besides if we’re talking about Bairro Alto. Purex – the most famous “lesbian friendly” bar in the area – is celebrating its first decade in high spirits. When you push open the orange door anything can happen. The space is welcoming and consists of the most kitsch objects, including a statue of Our Lady and lamps made from plastic cups.
