After over 40 years of working and living in the Alexandria, VA area, she is retired from a career in banking and has launched a new career in social work, having earned her MSW. Sally Clancy Ballard and husband Jim recently celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary, and have retired in Sapphire, NC, after 40 years in Atlanta, GA. Sally spent 18 years as a wife and mother involved in school, community and church, often as director of children’s theatre. Later she became a public school teacher of language arts and theatre, retiring in 2001. Presently she is involved in the language arts program of a tiny little mountain school. Mildred Gee Akers celebrated her birthday in Paris, France. Linda Whitnel Crimm and Jesse attended Wofford Homecoming

in October. Their son Hampton is doing his Naval medical residence in the Washington, DC area. He was married in the fall. Dianne Kennedy McLees and Ray spent a week in Colorado in September for their daughter Margaret’s wedding. In May, son Raymond and his wife Jennifer presented them with their first grandchild, the luscious Natalia, who at four months was her Aunt Margaret’s flower girl. Carol Geyer Furtwangler continues her career of literary editor. Her major client’s novel is currently being considered for publication. In September Carol’s daughter Elizabeth married Robert Coker, Citadel grad and computer whiz.

Melinda Crow Harper and her husband Bruce still live in Miami, FL (Coral Gables) after 40 years. She continues to teach at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Day School in Coconut Grove—been there 21 years. They are expecting their second and third grandchildren in December and January. Margot McCord Campbell, Judy Coe, Beth Brewer Franz, Lee Tabb Lauterbach and Karen Stratton Schlag all went on a Canadian cruise for our 65th birthdays this past year. We had a ball being together and seeing totally different places. Rosalie Stone Morris just returned from London, Turkey, Egypt, India, Jordan and Morocco—a two week excursion to see the “highlights of the world.” The Lost City of Petra in Jordan was

the highlight for her. They arrived home in time for Thanksgiving, which they shared with Suzanne Smith Jordan and Whit and their 22-month-old grandson, Charles Morris III. Sandra Sherard Bethea and her husband have moved to Georgetown, SC. They cruised the waters of South America for the holidays. Her husband Bob is now teaching at MUSC Dental School three days a week.
