HAPPY HENRY had hip surgery in early fall and has recuperated nicely. Happy volunteers at one of the Columbia hospitals on a regular basis and really enjoys it. FRAN EVANS Read’s Christmas card showed Fran and Peter surrounded by their children and spouses at their 50th anniversary party. Fran and Peter live in the Bishop Gadsden Retirement Community on James Island, SC. DONNA CULBERTSON Fritz received the Mary Mildred Sullivan Award at the 2013 Graduation Ceremony at Wofford College, a wonderful honor and one she will cherish. JACKIE HACKLER Hollis and her husband Richard were there with Donna and joined Max and Donna at the awards luncheon. Lynch Lifetime Achievement Award by the Virginia Society for Clinical Social Work in September. She still sees patients and is working on second editions of her books. Last summer, PEGGY WILSON Schneider and her husband celebrated 50 years of marriage in France with her entire family of 10, including two grandsons. Last fall, PIEDY MAHAFFEY Waterfall, BETTY LAKE Orr, and BETSY BLYTHE Frazer spent a few days laughing together in the NC mountains. Betsy has a new granddaughter, Alice Blythe Frazer, born last July 5, in Cork, Ireland. Betty has had dinner with MELI RABB Rucker, who lives in Winston-Salem, NC. Meli has an interest in and works at The Ski and Tennis Station there. VIRGINIA MCNEILL Maddry has a grandson (15), who is over 6’ and, unfortunately, lives far away in Wisconsin. She still lives in Norfolk, VA and retired from Old Dominion in 1994. Last fall, ELSIE WHETSELL Stevens, ALICE HASKELL Sanders, MARTHA BROCKINTON Roberts and LAURA SIMPKINS Stock attended an alumnae luncheon at the Charleston Yacht Club. SALLY WATKINS Marshall and Laura enjoyed lunch with Martha at Bishop Gadsden in Charleston. SUSAN HAWKINS Bruns and Tom enjoy winter diving in

CLAUDIA MCCOLLOUGH spent a fabulous two weeks this summer in Jerusalem, Israel and Turkey with her two brothers; one, a Biblical archeologist. They get together for a few weeks each year in honor of their parents for the wonderful family life they gave them. JOLENE WILLARD Bryant wrote that her daughter, Laura B. Palmer ’91 is working on her PhD; her grandson Austen is attending Clemson. TERRELL COOK McMillan’s daughter, Ellen Hickl, a part time model, and granddaughter Sara Grace (4), can be seen in the January issue of Cooking Light, and other magazines this spring. MALINDA MAULDIN Whitelaw is now a great- grandma! She is still busy with her musicals and visiting children. She and Richard leave in April to see her daughter and family in Melborne, Australia. CANTEY BRABHAM Carpenter and Bill are now living alternately between their log cabin and town bungalow in beautiful, scenic, Brevard, NC. JULIE BLACKWOOD Stevenson reports a fun get together in Highlands, NC. The group included DOTTIE HENDERSON Wise, Claudia McCollough, MICHAEL HOLT Crawford, TERRELL COOK McMillan, MARY LOUISE CHANDLER Kilroy and RANDY NEW Armstrong, whose art work was on display in the Bascom Art Museum. GENE WILSON Upmeyer is still busy with concerts and recitals, grandchildren and her 94 year old mother. Gene and Ernst celebrate their 50th anniversary in May. She says life in good! LYDIA WILLARD Kellett and Bill moved to an apartment on the river in Cleveland Park in Greenville, SC. She’s in touch weekly with WINKIE GIDDENS Greer and PRIS BROWN Willard and had lunch recently with MARJORIE CODDINGTON Cannon and ANNA LINEBERGER Stanley. PRISCILLA HOLEMAN Hopkins and Lint report they delight in being “on call” to visit their son and daughter and families in Asheville, NC.
