: patient with amputated left leg; second toe of right foot also amputated; wounds on foot and sanies foot colour almost black;

Problem

: very low blood circulation; planned amputation of right leg;

Previous treatments

: physiotherapy and ozon therapy; medication; other methods were applied to improve blood circulation / treatments within 6 months without significant results;

Therapy with VACUMED : 8 treatments / 30 minutes each 50 mbar neg. pressure / 10 seg. / 1,01 bar atmospheric pressure / 8 seg. Result : accelerated wound healing; colour of foot significantly improved, dark spots disappeared; amputation was avoided;

30 patients following arthroscopic meniscus resection and stabilizing interventions on the front and rear knee joints. Control group 30 similar patients who received the traditional treatment without intermittent negative pressure. Start at the earliest seven days after the surgery and after removal of the sutures. Indications: post op. oedema, pain and exsudates in the knee joint. Contraindications: Infections, chronic diseases, thrombosis. In comparison with the control group, who did not receive intermittent vacuum therapy, the examined patients showed a faster reduction of the oedema by 2 – 6 days (average 3.5) and reported less pain during physiotherapy.
