CELEBRATING THE SUCCESS OF JAMAICAN AMERICAN LAW ENFORCEMENT ORGANIZATION (JAMLEO) MEMBERS: CONGRATULATIONS

On August 30th, the Police Academy in Queens was filled with pride and joy as eight distinguished members of the Jamaican American Law Enforcement Organization (JAMLEO) were promoted within the ranks of the New York Police Department (NYPD). This momentous occasion marks a significant achievement for these dedicated officers, who have shown exceptional commitment, professionalism, and service to their communities and the NYPD.

The eight JAMLEO members who were promoted in the recent ceremony are:

• Detective: Robert A. Waisburd, Derval A. Whyte, Andre Richards

• Detective First Grade: Courtney A. Thorpe

• Sergeant: Shawnavon R. Campbell

• Lieutenant: Trevlyn Headley, Danae McFarlane

• Captain: Jackeline A. Bodden

Each of these individuals has demonstrated excellence in their respective roles, and their promotions are a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the values they uphold as members of the NYPD. Their achievements not only enhance the reputation of JAMLEO but also inspire future generations of law enforcement officers to strive for greatness.

A special congratulations is in order for Lieutenant Danae McFarlane, President of JAMLEO, whose promotion to the rank of Lieutenant is a proud moment for the organization and the Jamaican Diaspora in New York. Under Lieutenant McFarlane’s leadership, JAMLEO has continued to be a pillar of support and representation for Jamaican American law enforcement professionals, advocating for unity, professional development, and community engagement.
