WOMAN ARCHITECT OF THE YEAR / LAMA AL KHARBOUSH / AEDAS

Lama Al Kharboush received the title of Woman Architect of the Year. She worked as an intern at Aedas before graduating in 2017, with a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering from American University in Dubai, UAE. She is a Saudi young professional with experience in a variety of architectural projects in the UAE and KSA. She was promoted several times after demonstrating her dedication and eagerness to learn and grow as a female architect. Lama then became an associate at Aedas, leading large-scale exclusive projects in Saudi Arabia competing against international large architectural firms. She aims to empower young women to fight back and earn their rightful place in architecture practises because female architects are not sufficiently recognised in large international firms. With over 5 years’ experience in master planning, hospitality, mixed-use, residential and transport projects at Aedas, the young architect is passionate about concept design, as she believes that the conceptual stage is innovative and creative. /
