TRENDS THAT DRIVE US: This month’s news bulletin focuses energy consumption and energy efficiency. The management of energy is challenging for many industries and even more so for the hospitality industry, given that guests are the main users of this commodity. However, reducing energy efficiently reduces operational costs and minimises the company’s environmental footprint alike, without having to impact the guest experience negatively at any given time. It further helps to fight climate change – one of society's biggest challenges in this day and age. Therefore we aim to provide you in this news bulletin with simple, yet comprehensive business solutions, which save money, enhance your hotel's reputation and is often a simple, but effective measure to be taken in order to make a change and achieve a positive impact. CONSIDERATE HOTELS
A European luxury hotel has been using Con-Serve to collect data on energy, water and waste. The hotel saw electricity savings of £28.4K in 2015 compared to 2014, which largely resulted from the renegotiation of energy tariffs. However, electricity consumption per room night fell by 5.5% between 2014 and 2015, indicating greater efficiency in energy usage per guest. Read more
