Mark VanBuskirk- 11th Grade Representation- “This weekend has allowed me to learn about "the safest place to be you." I was able to bond with my fellow board members and to learn about safety in all aspects of life.”
Jacob Rosenfield - Membership Vice President- “This weekend was an eye opening one! It was understandable why someone might just say it’s an easier option to go to the youth lounge or stay in a classroom, but I think coming to a hotel off campus was the best way to start off our year! Throughout this weekend I have made even closer relationships and bonds with the people I already knew. The environment provided a safe workplace and allowed us to focus more. During this weekend we learned about multiple things in our sessions like social media, connecting with members and providing a “safe place” for others. It was a great weekend!”
Shay Wheatman - 9th Grade Representation- “This weekend was beneficial to me to prepare me for the year to come. Doing it at the hotel was less pressure than doing it in the youth lounge, and now after this weekend I feel prepared for bonding with the younger kids and encouraging them to continue their CBI journey and education.”
Skyler Hyman- Financial Vice President- “I think the board retreat was really beneficial to the board, as a whole because it not only gave us opportunities to become closer as friends, but closer as a board to work together throughout the year more efficiently and more effectively. As my last year serving on this board, I truly thank all of CBI for this opportunity to better my individual leadership skills and to further my relationship with the rest of my board.”
Brandon Sadow- Communications Vice President- “Every year we have retreats that always focus on similar topics and while they are super fun this retreat was different. Zoe and Rabbi Keller did a terrific job planning this weekend for the board. I had a great time bonding with my board members, learning about my inner self and planning how BISY will program and make this year amazing!”

BISY Tyler VanBuskirk- 1th Grade Representation- “This weekend November 9 - Drive Shack was valuable because the board became closer with each other. November 20 - Fundraiser @ Tijuana Flats We also learned about safety, what that means to us and what December 6 - Disney Shabbat it means to others. Being at the hotel, allowed us to always be December 25 - Give Back Christmas Feast @ Town Center with our fellow board members all the time and really learn from each other and our ideas for the next year.
