Basic Line Dancing for Beginners

Ages: 18 years and up

In this beginner-friendly class, discover the joy of line dancing, a versatile activity suitable for all. Learn basic steps in a welcoming and fun-filled environment. Line dancing promotes confidence, memory, well-being, and coordination, while offering stress relief. Soon you'll be passing on your love of line dancing to your friends and family.

Line Dancing by Sparkles – Beginners

Ages: 18 years and up

Keep fit, sharpen your memory, release endorphins, laugh, and smile! This is an opportunity for new and returning line dance students to make new friends while learning absolute (if you have never danced before) beginner to slightly higher beginner line dances. It doesn’t feel like exercise but you’re moving and building strength all the same! No class November 10 and 24.

Line Dancing by Sparkles –Intermediate

Ages: 18 years and up

This class is for high beginners and improvers. You must have mastered the steps from the “Line Dancing by Sparkles – Beginners” class to join. Enrollment is subject to instructor’s approval. No class November 8.

Ukulele Beginning

Ages: 18 years and up

You will learn to play the ukulele; to strum simple familiar songs like Jambalaya and Blue Hawai’i! You will need a: ukulele, ukulele strap, tuner, pencil and folder or binder for music.

Ukulele Intermediate

Ages: 18 years and up

Learn to read music for ukulele on staff and tabs; pick melodies and harmonies; and play advanced strums, chords and songs. You will need: ukulele, strap, tuner, pencil and a folder or binder for music. Requirements: easily play basic major, minor and 7th chords.

Ukulele Jam Session

Ages: 18 years and up

Kanikapila! That’s Hawaiian style! Music will be provided; mostly Hawaiian. For at least intermediate level (and intrepid experienced beginners) who can play chords and can learn more on your own as we go.

In this comprehensive 4-hour course, you will learn about system navigation, perform common tasks, plus learn to use essential apps and time saving shortcuts. This course is designed for Mac newcomers and beginners. Students must bring their own MacBook.

French for Continuing Beginners –on Zoom

Ages: 13-85 years

Delve into the French language and its culture with unique games and specific learning techniques designed to get you comfortable and confident. Covering both conversation and pronunciation, this class will go into various themes like tenses, prepositions, pronouns, vocabulary, and more! Prerequisite: Basic understanding of gender, nouns, verbs and agreements. No class November 23.

Practical Spanish for Beginners –on Zoom

Ages: 18 years and up

Ready to learn Spanish? With almost 40% of California residents speaking Spanish or having Spanish-speaking backgrounds, it's becoming essential. This class is designed for beginners, assuming no prior knowledge. Spanish is the easiest foreign language for English speakers to learn, and regardless of your previous experience, you can speak Spanish—just take the first step!

Resume Preparation

Ages: 18 years and up

Instructor, Mary Bruns, has provided leadership workshops in business and non-profits for over 30 years including 5 years of teaching resume preparation, interviewing skills, and resiliency/adapting to change and lay-offs. In this class, you will draft/update your resume and cover letter to highlight your skills and strengths.
