For a real change of pace, explore a part of America the Beautiful that can only be described as a true unknown jewel, the Gila Wilderness of New Mexico. Leading you on your five-day hiking or horseback pack trip will be Preston Bates, who has been guiding guests through the high mountains of the Gila Wilderness for over 25 years. Spend your days in the world's oldest designated wilderness area by fishing, hunting, backpacking, horseback riding, or photographing the beauty of the wilderness. Spend your evenings in total relaxation gazing at the stars. This makes a perfect father/son or mother/daughter memorable trip! Tents, meals, and all gear other than personal items and sleeping bags will be provided. This trip is highly customizable based on your prior horseback riding experience and general physical condition, and transportation from the Albuquerque airport can be arranged with Preston.
