Getting Ready for Showings and Open Houses
1. Do a complete walk through and look at each room from a potential buyer’s view. 2. Organize, Depersonalize, De-clutter and Clean
• Scrub tile in the kitchen and bathrooms. • Clean all floor surfaces. • Steam clean rugs, carpets and draperies. • Get rid of all dust. • Repair cracks/holes in the walls. • Repaint in neutral colors. • Rearrange furniture. Remove excess furniture. Organize room closets. • Remove toys for kids and pets. • Remove personal items. • Clear out garage. Store elsewhere, if possible. • Be sure to secure your valuables like cash and jewelry.
3. Increase Curb Appeal • Paint the exterior, trim, doors and shutters.
• Power wash the exterior. • Inspect the roof and make repairs as needed. • Repair cracks in the driveway and sidewalks. • Clear and clean the entryway and walkways. • Keep lawn mowed and landscaping fresh. • Plant vibrant flowers. • Clean any trash and pet droppings in yard. • Clean gutters and downspouts.
4. Make Your Kitchen and Bathrooms Sparkle • Mop and wax/polish the floors.
