India Day Parade The India Day Parade, celebrating the 66th Anniversary of India’s Independence, was held in Hicksville. Town of Hempstead Councilwoman Dorothy Goosby greeted Indu Jaiswal of Garden City, a board member of the parade, and congratulated all of the participants.
Birthday Celebration for a Queen A Birthday Thanksgiving Celebration was held in honor of Queen Mother Clara RafuaKinkel of Baldwin at the St. Ladislaus Roman Catholic Church in Hempstead. Town of Hempstead Councilwoman Dorothy Goosby presented a Certificate of Recognition to the Queen Mother, an honorary Queen from Nigeria, and congratulated Omu Of Ogwashi Uku (African Charities), Rev. Piotr Wasek of St. Ladislaus, Bishop Robert Brennan (Diocese of Rockville Centre), Darcel WhittenWilamowski (Coordinator Ministry to Catholics of African Ancestry), and Father Paul Ifeadi from St. Ladislaus.
