BOLD IMPACT We are so pleased to provide this annual report about how philanthropy through the Community Foundation of Broward creates BOLD impact for the community we love.

The Community Foundation just accomplished its boldest grantmaking year ever, thanks to the dedication and generosity of a growing number of local philanthropists who partner with us to be more strategic and impactful with their giving.

During our 2023 fiscal year, we achieved recordbreaking annual grantmaking of $19 million to tackle Broward’s big challenges and shape a brighter and more prosperous future.

Community Foundation grants support career training, seniors, the arts, mental health, cancer research, the environment, animal rescue, education and more. Through the power of endowment, we can count on life-changing support from the Community Foundation for generations to come.

Of course, our impact reaches beyond grantmaking.

During 2023, the Community Foundation’s BOLD leadership forged new collaborations to support the LGBTQ community, raise awareness about environmental sustainability and deliver emergency aid after Broward’s historic flash flooding.

JUMP-STARTING FL When historic flash flooding from an April storm destroyed homes and businesses, our Broward Cares collaboration provided nearly $1 million to help our community recover.

During times of crisis, the Community Foundation of Broward, the Jewish Federation of Broward County and United Way of Broward County team up to activate Broward Cares, which delivers coordinated help where it’s needed the most.

DEINHARDT SOCIETY Libby and Jack Deinhardt founded the Community Foundation of Broward in 1984 to create a source of leadership and philanthropic support for their community that would last forever.

Named in honor of Libby and Jack, the Deinhardt Society carries on their commitment to local philanthropy by creating a permanent source of support for the Community Foundation’s mission and operations.

By donating to the Community Foundation Mission Support Fund, Deinhardt Society members fuel our day-to-day work to make Broward a better place to call home.
