COMMUNITY OBITUARIES Rose Santoro, 89 NORTHBOROUGH - Rosina “Rose” Santoro, of Northborough, passed away on Feb. 25, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Rosina was born on Oct. 23, 1931 in Queens, N.Y. to Giacomina Leo and Rosario Morsellino. Rosina was the devoted wife to the late Matteo Santoro for 57 years until he passed away in November 2011. Rose is survived by her three daughters, Maria Lorito and her husband Angelo Lorito, Jacqueline Santoro and her fiancé Bob, and Anna Smith and her husband Robert Smith, and her four grandchildren, Nicholas Bassi, Tara Bassi and her fiancé George DiFrancesco, Kristin Smith, and Joseph Smith. Rose is also survived by her sister, Jacqueline Japngie, who referred to her beloved sister as “Rosie,” and she also leaves behind her nephews, Gene Gant, Anthony

Japngie, and David Bateman; as well as her friends, Linda and Janny, and her family and friends in New York and Sicily, Italy.

Pearl G. Largess Prunier, 97 SHREWSBURY - Pearl G. (Pescaro) Largess Prunier, 97, a lifelong Shrewsbury resident, passed away on Feb. 22, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard A. Prunier, and her first husband, Kenneth C. Largess. Pearl is survived by her devoted family, including her son, Kenneth C. Largess and his wife Patricia; her daughter, Donna L. O’Connor and her husband John, with whom she lived; and brother-in-law, Norman Vandal all of Shrewsbury and a sister-in-law, Jean Largess of

Worcester. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Kenneth C. Largess III and wife Tracey, Tara Chisholm and husband Dan, Erin Cook and husband Jeffrey, John O’Connor and wife Michelle, Kevin O’Connor, Brian O’Connor and wife Courtney; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four siblings, George, Helen, and Edward Pescaro, and Ann Vandal.

Jane C. Wood, 85 SOUTHBOROUGH - Jane C. (McNamara) Wood, 85, of Southborough, passed away on March 25, 2021 after a very short illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Philip J. Wood. Jane is survived by her children, Suzanne Wood of Brooklyn, N.Y.; Jennifer Wood of Falmouth; Philip J. Wood Jr. and his wife Janet of Wrentham; Brian Wood and his wife Jodi of Natick; Stephanie Velvin and her husband Chad of Bracey, Va.; and Jonathan Wood of Framingham, as well as and her sisters, Mary Dever of Hingham and Sonia Keegan of Falmouth. She was the proud grandmother of Megan Dinnerstein, Jason and Eric Wood, Rachel and Lindsay Wood, and Kurt Velvin. She also is survived by a large extended family and several dear friends.

SHREWSBURY - Frank E. Groccia Jr., 91, of Shrewsbury, formerly a longtime resident of North Grafton, passed away unexpectedly at home one day short of his 92 birthday, on March 26, 2021. He was the husband of 54 years to the late Genevieve M. “Jane” Nalewajko. Frank is survived by his two children, Francine A. Karaska and her husband Mark of Groton and Frank E. Groccia III and his wife Bethanne of Worcester; three grandchildren, Emily A. Renner and her husband Alex, Rachel M. Karaska, and Kyle A. Karaska; a great-grandson, Roman; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and

friends. In addition to Frank’s parents, Frank E. Groccia Sr. and Rosa (Lomolino) Groccia, and wife, his two brothers, John W., and Gennaro “Gerry” Groccia, predeceased him.

Shannon H. McDonald, 55 SOUTHBOROUGH - Shannon H. McDonald, 55, of Southborough, peacefully entered into rest on March 26, 2021, surrounded by her family at her side. She was the adored wife of Howard Rosenstein and devoted mother of Samuel and Jackson Rosenstein; the cherished daughter of James and Mary Helen McDonald and sister of Erin Rowley, all of Erie, Pa.; beloved daughter-in-law, sisterin-law and aunt to nine nieces and nephews; and irreplaceable friend to countless others.

Amena M. Paolini, 96 WESTBOROUGH - Amena M. Paolini, 96, of Westborough, passed away on March 27, 2021 at the home of her daughter. Born in Westborough, she was the daughter of the late Adolfo and Domenica (Moretti) Paolini. She is survived by one daughter, Denise M. Mastrovito and her husband Daniel of Attleborough; one sister, Gloria White of Hudson; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Rocco Paolini, Rose Ladd, Guido Paolini, Marguerite Santoro, Serefino Paolini, Jean Trotta, Bernice Loncar, Mary LaPlante, Henry Paolini, Ernest Paolini, and Ida Juskulka.

July 22, 1985 - March 25, 2021 SHREWSBURY - Sweet, kind, easy-going, Brett may have spent his young years as everyone’s kid brother, but he grew into a man full of heart with a laugh that was signature of his lovable spirit. Born the youngest of five boys to parents Carole & Wil-

liam in Monclova, Ohio, Brett grew up surrounded by a large family. He moved to the Boston area in 2009 with his wife, Lindsay, and together, they loved exploring the beauty of New England with their companion Jethro at their side. He’s survived by his wife, Lindsay; parents William and Carole; brothers Chad (Wiwik), Ryan, Josh (Jess), Jacob (Eva), and Bree; in-laws David and Ellen Hartley, Jennifer (Shane); and nieces and nephews, Gage, Isabella, Asoka and Harrison.
