Why be involved with this book? Australian enterprises can boast a proud history of success in exports spanning more than 200 years. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Australian Export Awards in 2012, we are proud to present you a very special title called Australia’s 50 Iconic Exporters.
The federal Minister for Trade and Industry, the Hon Craig Emerson, has officially endorsed Australia’s 50 Iconic Exporters. The book will be launched at the Sydney Opera House in late 2012 and announced at next year’s 50th Australian Export Awards gala dinner.
The publication will highlight the achievements of 50 outstanding exporters. They will range from niche start-ups to global giants and include those Australian enterprises that are making a significant contribution to elevating our international reputation as a source of world-class goods and services.
The book will include a Role of Honour listing all the past Prime Minister’s Australian Exporter of the Year Award winners. The names of all Trade Ministers over the last 50 years also will appear.
International trade is central to the Australian way of life and to our economic wellbeing. Exports help create jobs and a better standard of living for all Australians.
Distribution
While Australia still produces a great deal of primary industry exports, significant export growth has come from some several other sophisticated industry sectors, including: • Resources • Agribusiness/food and • Health wine • Retail • Services • Tourism/hospitality • Manufacturing • Property/construction • ICT • Education • Media and entertainment • Finance
A total of 12,000 copies of the book will be produced, of which five thousand copies will be distributed worldwide via selected Austrade and ACCI/ICC offices in Asia, the Indian sub-continent, Europe, North and South Africa and North and South America.
e-book We will create an e-book version of Australia’s 50 iconic Exporters, which will allow participants to showcase their achievements in more depth.
