“OUR GOD IS SOVEREIGN”

(No 8 in series: The Attributes of God)

The word sovereignty in the Bible is a ter m that d e s c r i b e s G o d ’s c o m p l e t e c o n t r o l a n d management of the universe God is the r uler over the wor ld God created “He’s Got the Whole Wor ld in His Hands ”

God does not consult with gover nment leaders kings cour ts or r ulers because God is Himself the “King of Kings and Lord of Lords ” Nothing takes God by sur pr ise We wonder where the wor ld is heading God knows where the wor ld is heading because God is the Head of the wor ld The psalmist wrote, “The Lord has established His throne in the heavens and His sovereignty r ules over all” (Psalm 103:19) God spoke through the prophet Isaiah, saying, “Heaven is my throne, and the ear th is my footstool ”

Since God is sovereign:

• The heavens worship Him (Nehemiah 9:6)

• God’s help is at hand (Isaiah 50:7)

• Nothing is too hard for God (Jeremiah 32:17)

• One day justice will be a reality (Acts 17:31)

• We are heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17)

• Satan will ultimately be defeated (Romans 16:20)

• Death is swallowed up in victory (I Cor inthians 15:54)

• There is hope for the church (Ephesians 4:6)

• We have one Ruler (I Timothy 6:15-16)

Wouldn’t the wor ld be a better place if all of us allowed God to take control of our lives?

Prayer: Dear Jesus, please forgive my sins and take control of my life In Your strong name Amen
