This beautiful boy was brought into Wishbone’s care as a lost dog who was never reclaimed Our medical team have estimated he’s 7 years old Rambo seems to be almost completely blind he hasn’t seen an ophthalmologist but our vet speculates he has a degenerative eye disease that’s caused his loss of vision He has gained so much confidence with the donation of a halo har ness to help him navigate the wor ld! Rambo was clear ly someone’s pet before his time with us He loves people, knows basic commands, and seems housebroken even in the shelter environment Rambo has not yet been temperament tested, but he could likely join a home with other dogs and older, respectful children If there is another dog in the home, we’ll schedule a meet and greet to ensure they’re a good fit! He hasn’t yet been tested with cats

For Herod had arrested and imprisoned John (John the Baptist) as a favor to his wife Herodias (the former wife of Herod’s brother Philip) As soon as Jesus heard the news, he left in a boat to a remote area to be alone But the crowds heard where he was headed and followed on foot from many towns Jesus saw the huge crowd as he stepped from the boat, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick

REFLECTION: Jesus was deeply saddened by the arrest of John the Baptist, his relative The Jewish knew of John and were also disturbed They had faith in John the Baptist calling for repentance, but they were still weak in their faith They were terr ified by his arrest and seeking a new shepherd, so they tur ned to follow Jesus One day Jesus got into a boat to leave the region that was controlled by Herod He withdrew into a wilder ness area to keep Himself and his disciples safe A crowd estimated to be 5000 followed him there We do not know how long they remained in the wilder ness, but it was cer tain for a long time The people did not want to leave that place because they thought they found themselves in the presence of one of God’s Prophets because Jesus was healing the sick and teaching them about His Father His divine power was on full display Like us today, they were seeking a tr ue shepherd, a leader who loves and gives us a powerful pur pose We know that Jesus was not a prophet but a Savior One who sacr ificed His life so we may have eter nal life He guides our hear ts daily and sends us His Spir t It was no small thing for them to leave their own homes, and wor k Yet they stayed with Him, and he ser ved them a meal of bar ley loaves and fish That was Jesus’ first miracle, and he eventually feeds billions of people Chr istian churches around the wor ld celebrate the Lord feeding us by offer ing the Lord’s Supper This Sacrament is not so much a memor ial ser vice, but an active uniting between heaven and ear th The Body of Chr ist, the Blood of Chr ist, given for you
