Reimagining The Columbus Museum Update It has been only one year since we broke ground on our major renovation, and we are already planning for our reopening this spring. We are delighted to share with you that the renovation is continuing to progress on schedule and each day brings something new to see. It has been an inspiring and rewarding process to witness the building evolve into a brighter, more open, and welcoming cultural center for the community. We removed the berm at the front of the building and laid down a new lawn to create a more visible and welcoming presence for the community. The Museum’s exterior courtyard is taking shape with the installation of a beautiful water feature.
The original stairs to the third floor have been relocated, allowing for a clear sightline throughout the building. Additionally, the children’s gallery and garden, history galleries, and orientation spaces are almost ready for installation by the exhibition design firms. Installation of the new exhibit elements, interactives, and art and history collections will begin in early 2024.
