Local 4-H Club elects officers The Pickerington Clovers and Cloverbuds 4-H Club recently met to elect officers. They are: Tori Lynn Cozart, president; Kaitlyn Haynes, vice president; Chelsea Cozart, secretary; Crysta Haynes, treasuer; Abby Smith; news reporter; Danielle Neu and Michaela Stamper, recreation leaders; Matthew Hanes, health and safety officers; Shea Dooley, Rachel Hoffman and Jordyn Nevers, historians; and Aiden Hennerfeind, community service and environmental officer. Club members will be filling soda bottles with dimes to support the county endowment fund. The club is planning a Schwann’s fundraiser June 4 at the old Big Bear parking lot.

Violet Grange 1949 will host its eighth annual flag-retirement ceremony at 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 13, at 36 Lockville Road. Boy Scout Troop 256 will perform the ceremony. Jim Hachtel, president of the Gen.William Tecumseh Sherman Civil War Roundtable, will offer insights on Civil War flag-bearers. The public is invited and may bring torn or worn flags to be retired.
Historical society plans June 3 Strawberry Social

The Pickerington-Violet Township Historical Society will host its Strawberry Social from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 3. The event will be held on the plaza next to the museum at 15 E. Columbus St. Fresh strawberry desserts will be sold for $3, with proceeds benefiting the museum. The desserts were so popular last year that twice as many will be available this year. Guests may visit museum exhibits free of charge. Car enthusiasts can stop by the Olde Village Cruise-In on West Columbus Street.
