Continued from page D1 North was 17-8 overall before playing top-seeded Central Crossing in a Division I district tournament semifinal on May 18 at Pickerington Central. The winner will play sixthseeded Thomas Worthington or ninth-seeded Dresden TriValley in the district final Thursday, May 19, at Pickerington Central. The winner advances to a regional semifinal Wednesday, May 25. The Warriors opened the district tournament with an 11-0 win in six innings over Briggs on May 10. Rowland allowed two hits and struck out 11, and added three RBI. North scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to defeat Lancaster 3-2 in the second round May 12. Dustman had three hits and Victoria Shaffer drove in the winning run. •Central continued to make strides this spring under coach Brian Wamsley, who said he expects even more improvement in coming seasons. The Warhawks finished 19-8 overall after losing to Delaware 2-0 in the second round of the Division I district tournament May 12. Delaware freshman Mikayla Cooper pitched a one-hitter, allowing only a single by Paige McMenemy in the seventh inning. Cooper also hit a solo home run in the fourth. McMenemy, also a freshman, pitched well in defeat, as she allowed seven hits. “We couldn’t hit the Cooper kid,” Wamsley said. “Paige pitched a great game and we just didn’t give her the support she needed.” Highlights of Central’s final week of the season included beating North and beating Brookhaven 21-0 in five innings in the first round of the district tournament May 10. The Warhawks split their four games with North and Westerville South. They lost to North 3-2 on April 6, defeated South 12-2 on April 7 and lost to the Wildcats 5-2 on April 26. Central won its final four OCC-Cardinal games. Central will lose seniors Molly Bohrer, Sierra Carlson, Alex Chudik, Allie Cody, Andi Hayes, Amanda Lowery, Alexis Rios and Aubrey Schirtzinger.
