Who is Jesus? Because of our own human limitations and because of our sin we cannot gain knowledge of God on our own. And yet what we could not do, God did for us. God reveals himself to us in many ways but most fully in His Son. If we are to know God, we must look to Jesus.

God is most fully reveled to us in the person of Jesus. And yet it is sometimes difficult for us to reconcile God in the Old Testament with Jesus. Discuss some characteristics we see of God in the Old Testament that do not fit with our view of Jesus. Since we know that that God never changes where do you think we need to grow in our understanding? Does our understanding of the Old Testament need to grow or does our understanding of Jesus need to grow? Both?

The Scripture tells us that unless God reveals himself to us, we cannot come to know Him. But He did and does reveal himself to us through His Son, who is revealed to us by His Spirit in His Scripture. When you read the Bible do you read it expecting God’s Spirit to reveal who God is to you?

How does it affect your relationship with God knowing that, while we could not know God on our own, He loved us enough to send His Son into humanity in order to reveal himself fully to us?

Read from one of the 4 Gospels this week. This time ask, what does this story of Jesus tells us about God’s character?

We learned several weeks ago that the purpose for all human beings is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. This week we learned that the only way to know God fully is through the person of Jesus. This means that the kindest and most meaningful thing we can do for any person is to point them to Jesus, because in Him alone can they find purpose. How can we point our friends to Jesus this week?
