What Does it Mean to be a Human Being? Human beings

were made to rule and have dominion with God over his creation. We were to join God in his work of taking care of the earth and its creatures. However, sin has corrupted our relationship with creation and all work has become toilsome until Jesus returns and sets things right.

While all work has become toilsome, all work(unless that work is sinful) is also good and is intended to bring us joy. Discuss how you have found joy in work (chores/ schoolwork for kids).

God originally gave us work as a good thing where we can join God in his good work. And it is still that. However, it has also been corrupted by our sin. Now all human work is also toil. Yet we sometimes forget this and think that if we just find the right job, we will love every part of it, and that it won’t “feel like work”. Discuss what you find toilsome about your job (chores/schoolwork for kids) and pray for each other that while all work after the fall is toilsome, that we will also find joy in the work as well, as we were created to. hands feet genesis 1:28-31 and genesis 9:1-7

The scripture often points to creation when describing how God is worthy of worship. Spend some time outside this week praising God for His wonderful creation.

How can the way you relate to your work be used to point your non-Christian friends to Jesus?

Here we can see the effect sin has on our human role of ruling over creation with God by comparing what God commanded Adam with what He commanded Noah. Compare and contrast these two commands. Discuss how sin affected our relationship with creation.
