Here we see that Jesus is the firstborn human and the firstborn resurrected human (firstborn in these verses is referring to rank more than chronology). One way the Christian life has been described is as “an apprenticeship to Jesus in the art of being fully human”. Have you thought of your Christian life in this way before? How might it affect time in prayer and the Bible to see the Christian life as one where we through the Spirit become more fully the human being that we were created to be?
